Lincoln County School District #2 has five elementary schools. There are four elementary schools in Star Valley: a K-3 school in Afton (Afton Elementary); a 4-6 school in Osmond (Osmond Elementary); a K-3 school in Thayne (Thayne Elementary); and a 4-6 school in Etna (Etna Elementary). There is also a K-6 elementary school in Cokeville.

Middle school and high school students in Star Valley attend school in Afton. Star Valley Middle School houses students in grades 7 and 8. Star Valley High School serves student in grades 9 through 12. Swift Creek High School is a high school located in Afton that offers classes for the non-traditional student. Cokeville High School, located in Cokeville, is a combination jr. high/high school that serves students in grades 7 through 12.

Lincoln County School District #2 has two new, modern, and well-maintained high school facilities- one in Cokeville and one in Afton.  Construction of two new elementary schools in Star Valley is complete and students are attending in Thayne and Etna. The new Afton Elementary is under construction with an anticipated completion date of August 2011.

We are pleased to have thirteen new teachers and three new support professionals join us for the 2009-10 school year. Teaching assignments for these new teachers include:

• Mathematics
• Music

Support professionals hired include: Speech Language Pathologists, Compliance Facilitators, and School Psychologists.
