Superintendent Jon Abrams
The goal of education is to produce well-rounded students. In addition to classroom learning opportunities, students have multiple opportunities to participate in extra-curricular activites.
Each of the schools in LCSD#2 are fully accredited by the North Central Association (NCA), and by the State of Wyoming. To be fully accredited a school must show that it is meeting rigorous academic goals as well as be in compliance with the rules and regulations adopted by the Wyoming Department of Education.
As a result of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001, PAWS (Proficiency Assessment for Wyoming Students) scores are now used to measure a school’s Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP). All schools met their AYP targets in reading, writing and mathematics for 2006. Full testing reports are available at the listed links.
The State of Wyoming provides Hathaway Merit and Needs Scholarships to Wyoming students attending the University of Wyoming and Wyoming community colleges. Every Wyoming student who meets the merit requirements can earn a Hathaway Merit Scholarship. Contact your school counselor for more information.
