Accountability

Under the “No Child Left Behind Act” (NCLB) of 2001, the Proficiency Assessment for Wyoming Students (PAWS) scores are used to measure a school’s Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP).  Each year that a school does not meet the target, which for 2014 and beyond means 100% of students must score proficient or advanced, there are increasing sanctions and accountability requirements for Title I schools.
