Star Valley is a long (approximately 50 mile), narrow, valley bordered on all sides by beautiful mountains. The valley is divided about mid-point by “the Narrows”, which is a narrow part of the valley. The “Upper Valley” is south of the Narrows, and the “Lower Valley” is north of the Narrows. The upper and lower valley names were coined because of the direction in which the streams run. Star Valley has three rivers that run through it- the Salt, Greys, and Snake. These rivers provide great fishing most anytime of the year.
Cokeville is a ranching community approximately 35 miles south of Star Valley. Getting to Cokeville from Star Valley requires driving over Salt River Pass (commonly referred to by locals as the “South End”) and through a short stretch in the State of Idaho.
